Fluval Plant and Shrimp Stratum is collected from the mineral rich foothills of the Japanese Mont Aso Volcano, helping to condition your water to a neutral/slightly acidic chemistry. The substrate provides the perfect environment for live plants and tank inhabitants like tropical fish and shrimp that prefer non-alkaline water.

Fluval’s stratum is light and non-compactful in nature, making it ideal for the growth of beneficial biological bacteria and for plant root development. The physical nature of the stratum also provides burrowing newborn shrimp with a place to hide from predators.
