The Broadleaf Chain Sword (Echinodorus quadricostatus) is one of the most compact of the Echinodorus swords. They have broad, almost grass-like leaves and will spread by sending out runners with new miniature plants that can be allowed to root in plant or be separated from the parent plant and replanted elsewhere. They are fairly undemanding but do need plenty of nutrients to remain healthy; without the proper nutrients, the leaves will be very thin or light in color.
