The Daffodil (Neolamprologus pulcher) has yellow to orange fins on a dusky gray or tan colored body, and blue-violet markings on the face. Their elongated fins have fine white tips. This fish is somewhat aggressive, particularly when protecting its fry. They are best kept in a species-only tank, or with a group of larger docile tankmates like Cyprichromis. Daffodils tend to stay in a group, in the wild they are found in groups numbering in the hundreds. In the aquarium, they may be kept in pairs or in harems in larger tanks.
