Yellowback Anthias – Pseudanthias evansi

The Yellowback Anthias (Pseudanthias evansi) is a colorful fish that can go in most types of saltwater aquariums. Its body is mainly violet with a streak of yellow running from the caudal fin diagonally to the bottom of it’s tail. It also can have yellow spots on the violet portion of its body.

Anthias are closely related to the often large and aggressive predators known collectively as Groupers but have much more peaceful temperaments.
