Fusiliers are closely related to Snappers. They are torpedo-like fish that live in the mid- to upper-region of the marine environment and often form large schools for feeding and security. Rather than the aggressive predator behavior of Snappers, Fusiliers are planktivores and feed mainly on much smaller items. They need a large, open aquarium with plenty of swimming room. Their diet consists of small meaty items like brine shrimp, mysis, krill and similar items. They will not usually bother other tankmates or corals but may prey on small crustaceans like shrimp or crabs. Adults and juveniles are often very different in coloration.
