Melon Sword – Echinodorus osiris –

The Melon Sword (Echinodorus martii) has green broad leaves. The younger center leaves have a reddish tint to them and turn green as the plant matures. They are generally more difficult then other swords to keep healthy and need additional plant supplements such as iron is also recommended to keep these plants looking their best. They can be kept in soft or hard water and are best as a background or midground plant.
