Red-margined Shrimpgoby – Amblyeleotris rubrimarginata

The Red-margined Shrimpgoby (Amblyeleotris rubrimarginata) has bright red trim along its dorsal fins. Its long white body has tan bands with some speckling between the bands. Some also appear to have red spots on the first dorsal fin. This is a fairly newly-described species and is not yet well-documented so some regional or natural variations may occur.

This fish is best known as part of the group of gobies known as shrimpgobies. They form symbiotic relationships with certain pistol shrimp.
